In the semifinals of the Hippo International English Language Olympiad

Top 10 per cent of the participating students in our country qualified for the semifinals of this competition, including our students Miljana Antal, Jonatan Sijanta, Ana Davčik and Ognjen Berberović. The semi-final round was held online on Friday, May 28, 2021 in the school IT room. The results will be known in June.

Hippo English Language Olympiad

For the fourth consecutive year, our students have participated in the HIPPO English Language Olympiad, an international English language competition. Preliminary round was held at our school on Friday, 24 Apr 2021. Our school was represented by 13 students, divided into three categories based on their age- Marijana Skenderović, Nemanja Vojnić Hajduk, Ivan Horvat, Miljana Antal and Nemanja Moravčić (Hippo 1), Teolinda Glavaš and Jonatan Sijanta (Hippo 2), Ana Davčik, Andreas Damjanoski, Bojana Knežević,Anđela Stantić, Ognjen Berberović and Veljko Vuković (Hippo 3).. After the preliminary round tests have been marked, the top 10% of participating students from our country will be invited to the semi-final round. Students’ mentors are Svetlana Pribičević and Miroslav Rauš. Thanks to our teachers, Ibolja Vukobratović, Biljana Vojnić Hajduk and Bela Anišić for their help in organising the first round of the competition.

Poj riči materinske

This year as well, our school participated in the literary and art competition „Poj riči materinske", which was held for the fifteenth time in the organization of the Elementary School „Primošten" from the Republic of Croatia.
Due to the current epidemiological situation, a virtual meeting of participants and a tour of the exhibition in the lobby of the school from Primosten was made. See photos.

European Money Quiz 2021

On Wednesday, March 24th, the European Money Quiz (online) was held, via the YouTube channel and the Kahoot platform, starting at 12:00, and which was attended by over 300 participants from all over Europe.
The goal of the project is to increase the financial literacy of children aged 13 to 15. The competitions are organized by national associations of banks across Europe, with the coordination of the European Banking Federation from Brussels. Organized by the Association of Serbian Banks and in cooperation with the Ministry of Education, Science and Technological Development, this project was implemented in Serbia as well.
This year, for the first time from our school, eighth grade students participated: Ognjen Berberović, Dunja Pašić, Matija Jakovčević and Dejan Mačković, who showed enviable knowledge and placed among the first 100 participants. The learning material as well as the way of the competition itself, which takes place through the Kahoot platform, was presented to them by the maths teacher Ivana Vuković.

By reading to the stars

Učenici 7. a razreda, Fabijan Dulić, Luka Vuković i Martin Vuković, sudjelovali su, dana 3. ožujka, na drugoj razini natjecanja u znanju i kreativnosti Čitanjem do zvijezda za osnovne škole koja se je održala u Gradskoj knjižnici Subotica.
Osvojili su 3. mjesto s osvojena 52 boda (Fabijan Dulić - 19 bodova, Luka Vuković - 18 bodova, Martin Vuković - 15 bodova). Škola „Matko Vuković“ Subotica osvojila je 2. mjesto sa 76 bodova te 1. mjesto sa 79 bodova. Upravo su se te dvije ekipe plasirale i na treću, a ujedno i posljednju razinu natjecanja koja će biti održana online u mjesecu svibnju.
Čestitamo našim učenicima te im želimo još više uspjeha sljedeće godine, jer književnost otkriva ono što stvarnost skriva.

Municipal math competition

On Sunday, February 28, starting at 10:00 AM in the Elementary School „Miroslav Antić" in Palić, the City Competition of Elementary School Students in Mathematics was held.
Fifth, sixth and seventh grade students from our school participated in the competition.

Reading to the stars

Učenici naše škole sudjelovali su dana 29. siječnja 2021. na školskoj razini natjecanja Čitanjem do zvijezda.
Učenici 7. a razreda (Fabijan Dulić, Luka Vuković, Martin Vuković) plasirali su se dalje (ostvarivši ujednačenih 26 od ukupno 40 bodova) te će na međuškolskoj razini natjecanja predstavljati našu školu. Da sve prođe kako treba, brinulo se je tročlano Povjerenstvo koje su činile nastavnice: Morena Rendulić, Slađana Knežević i Anita Kopilović.
Ovogodišnja tema natjecanja ljetni su praznici sa službenim nazivom U svijetu knjige za koju su se učenici spremali čitajući 4 književna djela: Jadranka Klepac, Miris knjige; Roald Dahl: Matilda; Morea Banićević: Demon školske knjižnice; Liz Pichon, Tom Gates: Svjetski dan knjige: Najbolji u povijesti (dosad).
Iščekujući sljedeću razinu natjecanja Čitanjem do zvijezda učenici će prelistavati knjige, podsjećati se najvažnijih detalja te osvijestiti ono što nisu uspjeli u dosadašnjemu natjecanju.
Želimo im puno sreće i čim bolje rezultate na natjecanju koje slijedi.

Тhree of our students: Ivan Horvat (3.d), Ana Davčik (6.b) and Dušan Bajić (8.b) are among the top 10% of participating students from our country and have qualified for the semifinal round of Hippo English Language Olympiad.
The semifinal and final round have been postponed until further notice.

District Mathematics Competition


U Osnovnoj školi „Kizur Ištvan” u Subotici održano je, u subotu 7. marta, Okružno takmičenje iz matematike.
Na takmičenju su učestvovali i učenici četvrtog, petog i šestog razreda naše škole. Takmičenje je počelo u 10:00 časova. Izrada zadataka je trajala 150 minuta i u tom je vremenu svaki učenik rešavao po pet zadataka.
Učenica, 5.b odeljenja, Petra Mačković osvojila je 3. mesto i učenica, 5.a odeljenja,Teolinda Glavaš je (takođe) osvojila 3. mesto. Mentori učenika su: Ivana Vuković i Zoran Đereg.
Čestitamo našim učenicama, kao i njihovim mentorima, na postignutim rezultatima.

Pink Shirt Day – Competition

On Wednesday, March 4th, our students participated in a competition to commemorate the Anti-Bullying Day, known worldwide as the Pink Shirt Day. „Jovan Mikić“ Elementary School in Subotica organized this event, for the second time, under the motto „Your friend implores you: Don't insult - it hurts“, which was also the topic of the competition.
The following Elementary Schools participated in this competition: „Jovan Mikić“, „Ivan Goran Kovačić“, „Sečenji Ištvan“, „Sonja Marinković“ and „Jovan Jovanović Zmaj“ from Subotica, „Matija Gubec“ from Tavankut and „Vuk Karadžić“ from Bajmok.
Out of nine acts shown in the competition part of the program, our school students won first place by performing a dramatic act called „Let love shine everywhere“, with a music number. The author of the text is Aleksandra Antal, our 8th grade student. Students were mentored by Sladjana Knezević - Serbian Language teacher and Danijela Radnić - Student Parliament coordinator.
Second place went to the student of „Jovan Jovanović Zmaj“ Elementary school, Aleksandar Macura, who performed the musical number „I believe, I do not believe“. This number was prepared by Dragana Sinobad - Music teacher.
Third place went to 7th grade students from „Jovan Mikić“ Elementary School, who performed the play „Don't Let Me Be a Target“. The author of the script is Jelena Damjanović, a 7th grade student. The students’ mentor is Snezana Čutura, Serbian Language teacher.
