All the languages of Gubec

On February 6, 2019, Melisa Gadžur and Ivan Vuković participated in the interactive meeting „All the languages of Gubec“, organized by the primary school „Matija Gubec“ from Zagreb, as part of the In Media ReStart project with the aim to connect all schools that carry the name of Matija Gubec.
In the interactive e-time, we connected to the conference with the schools bearing the name Matija Gubec from Čeminec, Gornje Stubice, Jarmina, Magadenovac, Piškorevac and, more recently, Zagreb. We presented the activities of our school (strawmaking, Duzijanca and rowing) on the Bunjevac flea market, and thus presented to other participants of the customs and traditions of the Bunjevac Croats.
Students of all schools with interest followed the presentations, and we hope that such virtual encounters will become a tradition every year around February 9th, the day when the final battle of the Peasant Rebellion was played.

International Hug Day

On Monday, January 21, 2019. The International Hug Day is celebrated. On that occasion, members of the Student Parliament of our school organized an action to share free hugs in the center of Subotica. The passangers were visibly surprised and generally pleased to accept and hug them back. The students shared the flyers and the hearts of the friendships they had prepared  in association with their teachers.
We hope that next year will be even more hugs not just on this day, but every other day of the year
A hug does not cost anything and it means a lot.

Candies for a smile

Students' union of our school organized a humanitarian action Candies for a smile, with the support of teachers Danijela Radnic and Sandra Ilic Kostic. During the previous week, sweets and candies for children from kindergarten Petar Pan in Donji Tavankut were collected. Anyone who was able brought a candy bar, a choco banana or some similar sweets, and after the end of the action, packets were made for each child in the kindergarten.
The distribution of these modest, but heart-warming gifts, was held on December 5 in the kindergarten premises. All the children and their educators were pleasantly surprised by this gesture and didn't save their smiles.
The aim of the action was to cherish our little ones and show them that their great companions think of them. (See the picture gallery)

Relief mural

The entrance to the school was refreshed by the installation of a wall relief created by students and teachers at the Ceramic Workshop under the guidance and watchfulness of Barbara Bidin, professor of fine arts, and Robert Samardzic, an academic painter from Dugo Selo near Zagreb.
Every participant in the workshop, a pupil or a teacher, made up one part of this relief mural, which depicts the motives of our village through a multitude of beautiful details.
