Mathematics – district competition
Serbian Language Municipal Competition
On Sunday, 17 Mar 2019, „Jovan Jovanović Zmaj“ Elementary School in Subotica hosted the Serbian Language Municipal Competition. Our, 5th grade, 7th grade and 8th grade students took part in this competition. Lenka Todosijević (5.b) won 2nd place and will compete in the District Competition. Anđela Stantić (5.b) won 4th place and Maja Pisarić (7.b) won 5th place.
We congratulate our students on the results achieved.

The future movie stars
The shooting of a short feature film called "Salaš" directed by Dario Vojnic Hajduk, a 8th grade student, who has been engaged in film and photography for a long time, will soon come to an end.
The film crew consists of 11 members, and the shooting takes place in the school building and at the Ethno Village "Balažević". Great support in the shooting was provided by our school, as well as the HKPD "Matija Gubec" from Tavankut.
The script was written by Dario Vojnić Hajduk and Marijana Gadžur, students of the 8th grade, and leadning roles features: Melisa Gadžur, a 7th grade student, Ivan Vuković, a 7th grade student, and David Krasnić, an 8th grade student.
The film should be completed by mid-May.

During April and May, children will be enrolled in first grade for school year 2019/20.

In the semifinal round of HIPPO Olympiad
Five of our students- Ivan Horvat (2.d), Ana Davčik (5.b), Bojana Knežević (5.b), David Katrinka (8.b) i Ana Skenderović (8.c), are among the top 10% of participating students from our country and have qualified for the semifinal round of Hippo English Language Olympiad, which will be held on at the end March.
We congratuate our students and wish them good luck in the semifinals!

Municipal Poetry Recitation Competition
Oh, poet of my people, Municipal Poetry Recitation Competition, was held on March 5 at the Subotica City Library.
Our school was represented by the following students: Andreas Damjanovski (5.b) with the poem Kad knjige budu u modi (When books are in fashion) by Peđa Rajković, Melissa Gadžur (7.a) with the poem Ako (If ) by Rudyard Kipling and Marijana Gadžur (8.a) with the poem U suton (Into the sunset) by Dobriša Cesarić.

Knowledge of literature
The students had the opportunity to show their knowledge of literature at the Literary Olympiad (municipal level).
The students and their mentors were welcomed by our teachers and attended the opening ceremony, which included a short program presented by our students.
The contestants were assigned to the classrooms where they did the test.
After the test, the students attended the Straw-Work Art workshop and the General Culture Quiz.
The following students will compete at the District Competition: Dijana Lacman from „Majšanski put“ Elementary School, Nikola Lojpur from „Jovan Jovanović Zmaj“ Elementary School and David Đorđević from „Ivan Goran Kovačić“ Elementary School.
